Exercising self-governance and autonomy doesn't mean we can't see the tragedy occurring. Your body is your own and you were not ready to surrender access, that doesn't mean you don't feel for the body who could not survive without access.

Of course you have a right to grieve. Declined consent—regardless of the result—doesn't make us bad people, in any situation, ever.
