Great piece! It’s funny because as I was reading, I was imagining the story and analysis going in a much different direction.

For example: Does she not get male attention because she is with someone and other men see her as “taken” or “someone’s property” (makes me think of the song Jesse’s Girl), especially because the man she’s with is, by all accounts, successful and admirable, especially to other men.

Is it sexism that causes men to have groupies and women to not? Are men more apt to respect other men’s “property” and therefore not serve in the groupie role? So interesting.
