The Myth of the Narcissist

The narcissist is fully aware. They search for their victims as a lion hunts for prey. They consciously think to themselves, “No, not that one, they’re not going to be easy to manipulate. Ahh, yes, that one, I will start out slowly and then rip them to shreds, starting in about 6 months, without blinking an eye.”

The narcissist is incapable of empathy. They’re unable to recognize feelings or understand the thought patterns of others. They operate outside the normal human condition of reading eye movements and tones as the primary source of understanding. Instead, they function on agenda only.

The narcissist is resistant to treatment. They’re unaware of realizing a mental health condition. A narcissist runs only in function and never feeling. They have no needs and therefore no questions.

The narcissist has no past, no history. There are no hidden secrets about the kinds of treatment they’ve endured, no skeletons in the closets of those around them. They’ve endured no treatment.

The narcissist came from the perfect family. Their parents are a delight, their siblings have always been fine. They have friends, some of them long-term even, from childhood. Although… the narcissist did not have a childhood.
